Mr. Rem Tai, Chairman of the Silk Road Development Association, recently paid a visit to the Belt and Road Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. He communicated with Mr. Ho Lik-chi, Belt and Road Commissioner of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, about the ways in which the Silk Road Development Association can assist the SAR Government in advancing work related to the Belt and Road Initiative.
As Hong Kong’s first organization focused on the Belt and Road Initiative, the Silk Road Development Association has held over 70 Belt and Road-related activities in the past nine years. These include more than 30 Belt and Road forums; the publication of the Belt and Road-themed book Embarking on the Era’s Giant Ship of the Belt and Road; the production of Belt and Road youth entrepreneurship microfilms Wish You a Bon Voyage and With You All the Way; inspection tours (to Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Greater Bay Area); Islamic dinners; newspaper columns; and collaborations with multiple government departments and chambers of commerce from both the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.
The Silk Road Development Association has been stationed at the Nansha Home for Hong Kong and Macao Associations since the beginning of the year.
The award ceremony of the 2024 Quality Service Brand Awards (Belt and Road and Greater Bay Area Markets) – QSP Asia Award, hosted by the Silk Road Development Association, was successfully held at the SME Service Centre of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wanchai, Hong Kong on September 10, 2024.

The microfilm *You Along the Way* had its premiere at Emperor Cinemas in Hong Kong. Produced and coordinated by the Silk Road Development Association, the microfilm was created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and support people-to-people connectivity. A total of 106 guests from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland attended the event.
